I have long held an interest in medical education and feel fortunate to have had opportunities to follow my interest to acquire the required training and expertise, honing my skills along the way.  The training journey in this regard started with my involvement in the undergraduate community attachment scheme in 2004 and then moving on to foundation training, progressing to GP  registrar training a few years later.

I am training programme director (TPD) on the Sheffield vocational training scheme as well as a Differential Attainment (DA) TPD in the Yorkshire and Humber central (DA) team. The backdrop to my interest is a 22-year career as a GP principal, 21 of those years being in GP partnership in a busy urban training practice in which I work six weekly sessions comprising a combination of clinical and educational sessions.

I love cooking and baking, travelling particularly city breaks, scrabble and indulge in a number of spectator sports particularly football, athletics and basketball. I have developed a new found interest in bread making.
